Windows 10 Build 10041: Start menu, task view + new features and changes
Microsoft recently released a new preview of Windows 10 (Build 10041), and while the company announced that Cortana is now available in more countries, including China, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, many users are reporting issues activating Cortana in the newly added languages.
Previously, it was enough to change the language, clock and region settings to English (United States) for Microsoft's digital assistant to work, but starting with Windows 10 10041, this is no longer the case. To enable Cortana now, you must first install the operating system in one of the supported languages (United States, China, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany or Spain).
If you're not running one of the supported versions of Windows 10 to enable Cortana, Microsoft recommends going to the Windows Insider webpage and downloading the latest ISO for Windows 10 (build 9926). If you encounter an error when accessing the ISO files, go to the Windows Insider program page, sign in with your credentials, click the "Before installation" link in the menu, scroll down, click "Get a preview," click "Download ISO files" in the instructions, and proceed to download the correct language of Windows 10.
