How to erase the hard drive and reinstall Windows 10
When the Windows 10 documentation was updated, Microsoft announced that starting with version 1903, May 2019 Update, the memory requirement for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions will increase to 32GB or more. However, a new documentation page (via Neowin) clarifies that the new minimum requirement only applies to manufacturers building new computers, and not to devices already running Windows 10.
So if you have a laptop or tablet with limited storage that is already running a version of Windows 10, you can upgrade to the May 2019 Update and continue to receive updates.
The reason the company is increasing the memory requirement for PC makers is because Windows 10 starting with version 1903 introduces "Reserved Memory," a new feature that reserves a portion of the available memory (about 7GB) to reduce problems during the upgrade process. Also, this feature is automatically enabled during a fresh install.
