While we knew there would be no RTM version of Windows 10, we also knew that Windows 10 Build 10240, which Microsoft released to Insiders a few weeks ago, was the build version the company gave manufacturers to install on new computers, and it's the version of Windows 10 that's now available to the general public.
However, development is an ongoing process and to ensure that everything works, the operating system needs to be updated. Today, July 29, Microsoft is releasing its day-one patch for Windows 10. It's over 1 GB in size!
The update is intended to fix many reported issues with 10240.16405.150725-1815.th1, which is the build number users will receive starting today.
