Windows 10 November Update: Hands-on demo with new features and changes (version 1511)
The news comes from Microsoft COO Kevin Turner, who told Japanese news outlet Nikkei that Windows 10 will be released "early next fall." This is a more precise date than Turner's previous statement that the release would be in "late summer and early fall."
This new timeframe brings Microsoft's original plan to ship Windows 10 in April 2015 even further ahead. That date would have coincided with the launch of Windows 8.1, which wasn't a major release but just a major update to fix the flaws of the original design. But Windows 10 is much more than just an update that changes the course of everything.
Windows 10 is the operating system with which Microsoft hopes to further differentiate itself from Windows 8 and encourage Windows 7 users to upgrade.
