As Microsoft prepares to make a big reveal of Windows 10's new consumer features tomorrow, January 21, a new message from ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley suggests that the software maker will not release a preview version of Windows 10 for mobile following the event.

Instead, it appears that the first preview of the Windows 10 SKU for mobile devices will be released sometime in February 2015. However, Microsoft expects to talk about and demonstrate the mobile operating system during the press event.

Windows Phone 10, also known internally as "Windows 10 Mobile" within Microsoft, runs on smartphones and small tablets with Intel and ARM processors and is not expected to have the desktop environment.
