Windows 11: Upgrade from Windows 10 via Windows Update (official)

Although Windows 10 is now rolling out worldwide as a free upgrade to users running a genuine copy of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, the work is not done yet. The operating system is in an ongoing process and Microsoft is already working on the next update to fix a number of issues. While the company just recently released a day-one patch (KB3074683) on July 29 to fix various reported issues in Windows 10, a major update called Service Release 1 (SR1) is expected to be released as early as August.

According to The Verge, Windows 10 Service Release 1 could be released as early as next week. However, the service update will not include any new features, but will only fix some of the issues that users have reported with Windows 10.

In addition, the company is working on another update, currently known as Threshold Wave 2, which will include not only new fixes but also new features. Microsoft has not yet announced a specific release date, but it is likely that the new update will arrive sometime in October.
