If you don't, it is NOT Apple Lossless Audio! ⚠️

For years, Windows Media Player was a software that was limited in its ability to play various file formats. To overcome this limitation, most of us install VLC Media Player after installing Windows and forget about everything else related to codecs.

A lot is changing in Windows 10. The operating system now supports the FLAC media file formats, as well as MKV and HEVC. This is in addition to the list of formats that Windows already supports, all natively and without the need to install additional software or codec packs.

For those who don't know, FLAC stands for "Free Lossless Audio Codec" and is a container that can compress audio files by up to 60% without any loss of quality, similar to MP3 (lossy data compression) but a hundred times better.
