Windows 11 24H2: The best NEW features in 2024
UPDATED 7/25/2024: Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 11 Build 22621.3958 and 22631.3958 for versions 22H2 and 23H2 (KB5040527) in the Stable Channel as an optional update, and Windows 10 Build 19045.4717 (KB5040525) in the Stable Channel as a non-security update for version 22H2. This update was previously known as Build 19045.4713 (KB5040525) in the Beta and Release Preview channels.
According to the official announcements on July 25, 2024 (notes in the Release Preview Channel on July 11), the KB5040527 update for Windows 11 introduces a newer version of File Explorer, adds the ability to duplicate tabs and fixes crashes and hangs. The Start menu now allows users to drag and pin apps to the taskbar. In addition, the preview introduces various fixes for networking, printing, and more.
The update for Windows 11 is not available for devices registered in the Release Preview Channel, but they have already been upgraded to version 24H2.
