Windows 11 Build 22499: NEW taskbar changes
As part of the active development branch, Microsoft is now making Windows 11 Build 22509 available for devices enrolled in the Dev Channel. While this is another minor update, it's significant because of the visual changes it brings to the Start menu and taskbar. (Also, check out the hands-on video showing all the changes in this flight.)
Windows 11 Build 22509 brings welcome visual changes to the Start menu and taskbar for multi-monitor configurations, according to official notes. The Settings app is updated with more settings from the Control Panel, and there are several fixes, improvements, and known issues.
On Windows 11, build 22509 brings new settings for customizing the Recommended section of the Start menu. While it's not possible to disable the Recommended section, you can now choose from three different options in Start settings to show fewer recommended items and more pins. For example, the More Pins option only shows a single row of items and allows you to choose to show more pins. The Default option shows three rows of recommended items and three rows of pin items, while the More Recommended option offers more recommended items and two rows of pins.
