Microsoft is rolling out Windows 11 Build 26120.1340 as update KB5040557 with several new improvements and settings in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider program.

According to the official notes published on August 5, 2024, Build 26120.1340 is offered as a cumulative checkpoint update that makes updates smaller and faster through incremental differentials, saving time, bandwidth, and storage space.

New improvements include update KB5040557 with new mouse settings, including the Improve Pointer Precision feature, which was previously only available through the Control Panel, and the ability to change the mouse scrolling direction directly from the Settings app without having to modify the registry.
