Thanks to the many leaks over the past few months, we've certainly seen a lot of new features and improvements in Windows 8.1, like the return of the Start button and other small changes that have been piling up. But now Microsoft is officially announcing what's coming in the preview of the next big update for Windows 8.

According to Microsoft, the update is completely free for current Windows 8 and Windows RT users.
In a new report, Microsoft stresses that its latest operating system is a "bold approach to computing," and indeed it is, so much so that some of the 1.4 billion users the folks in Redmond claim have criticized the operating system. But look at things from the bright side: Microsoft is listening to all feedback, and Windows 8.1 will fix most, but not all, of the operating system's shortcomings.
