The Windows 8.1 update is officially here and users will start receiving the update via Windows Update today, April 8, 2014. Changes include booting to the desktop, a new way to close apps, and default apps opening certain files. However, because things work differently between tablets and non-tablets, it can be a little confusing as to what the Windows 8.1 update will actually do.
