In the Windows 8 Developer Preview, many users are experiencing the issue that when they click on an app tile in the new, immersive, full-screen Metro-themed apps, nothing happens – they don't launch. This behavior occurs when the screen resolution does not meet the minimum requirements for launching applications in the Modern UI, which should be 1024 × 768 or higher.
You can change your screen resolution by selecting "Advanced Settings" in Control Panel, and then selecting "Display" when the Desktop Control Panel appears. If your device does not support resolutions of 1024 × 768 or higher, you can always connect the device to an external monitor that supports those resolutions.
