A FUN WINDOWS EASTER EGG YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
This little Easter egg was revealed by Jensen Harris from the Windows User Experience team at the Windows 8 UX Week event, where he also showed early design models of what Windows 8 looked like in 2010 – worth seeing.
As Harris explained, for a while Microsoft was all about building features into things because they had the ability to do so. Since then, the company has moved to a more design-led model, paying attention to detail by developing its own design language (the tile language). The result shows a different point of view than other companies.
Now we have a PC, a phone and an entertainment device (Xbox) in the living room, all sharing the same interface and typography. They can all communicate with each other, you can share music between the devices and everything works together. The new concept is based on five principles, principles that the Windows team embedded in the operating system as an Easter egg and you can find them in the five default lock screen images – check them out in the gallery below.
