How to change icon and text size settings in Microsoft Windows 8
One thing is for sure, Windows lets you customize almost everything. And like previous versions, Windows 8 lets you customize the font of certain elements without changing the font of other elements on the screen. Read on to learn how:
Open the Power User menu with +X and press the letter P to access the Control Panel. Next, perform a search for "Display" and click or tap it in the results. You will then be presented with all the available settings for adjusting the screen. You can change the scaling settings using one of the three options (Smaller – 100%, Medium – 125% or Larger – 150%), or you can use your own custom size. But that's not really what we want to talk about today. What interests us is the "Change the text size only" section.
In this section, you can change the font size and specify whether to bold the text of certain elements such as title bars, menus, message boxes, palette titles, icons, and tooltips. Unfortunately, we cannot change the font family as we could in Windows XP, but it is understandable if you want to ensure a good user experience in Windows. Once you have changed the settings you want, click Apply to finish.
