Microsoft held a Reddit AMA on Wednesday to answer user questions about Surface Pro. In addition to answering many concerns about battery life, storage capacity, and a possible trade-in program, one of the questions remained and that was about a known issue in Windows 8 when using an external monitor.

How to fix scaling issues on high DPI devices in Windows 10 [Tutorial]
Reddit user Costco_Law_Degree was concerned that Surface Pro has a "very high resolution" and needs to be scaled to 150% to make the desktop usable. Since Windows 8 currently doesn't allow different scaling sizes with external monitors, this could cause problems for users who want to use the default 100% scaling setting on an external monitor.
This is a valid argument, as many users are considering purchasing a Surface with Windows 8 Pro as their primary device with connection to an external monitor.
In response, Microsoft said, "The Windows team is working hard on this feature to resolve the issue for all high-resolution Windows devices." Microsoft confirmed that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. However, a release date for the fix has not yet been set.
