Windows 11: Upgrade from Windows 10 via Windows Update (official)
Microsoft plans to release the first preview of Windows Threshold in late September as a "Technical Preview." There have been many rumors and most of them turned out to be true thanks to the Windows Technical Preview leak. However, another rumor, known as "Windows as a Service" (WaaS), could be part of Windows 10 at some point.
Previously, we had heard about “Windows 365” which speculated that Windows would receive new updates as a paid subscription, but the rumor was quickly refuted. However, it is not certain whether Microsoft could make updates and new features a paid service.
With that in mind, Windows as a Service seems to be a plan to change the way users get updates and new features. Starting with Windows Threshold, the software maker is considering building in an opt-in option that would allow a group of users to get new features that aren't available to regular users.
