Microsoft plans to release Windows RT 8.1 Update 3 sometime in September with a new Start menu but no major changes.

We know that Windows RT 8.1 devices will not be updated to Windows 10, but we heard from Microsoft in January that an update would be coming soon that would bring some of the Windows 10 features to Windows RT devices. We know this update as "Windows RT 8.1 Update 3."

However, the company has not revealed any official details about the features of these devices, which are mainly Surface RT, Surface 2 and the Nokia Lumia 2520.

It's been over half a year now and the software giant hasn't revealed any new information. Today, WinBeta reports that Microsoft is working on bringing the Start menu to Windows RT with "Update 3," but it won't be the Start menu we see in Windows 10 today. Instead, the company will use the Start menu we saw in early builds of the Windows 10 Technical Preview.
