Windows 11: Enable NEW Sudo Command (2 Methods)
On Windows 11, Windows Terminal is expected to be the new default command-line application in 2022, Microsoft confirms. Although the modern Terminal app already ships with Windows 11, the legacy Windows Console Host is still the default experience for running Command Prompt and PowerShell commands.
According to Kayla Cinnamon, program manager for Windows Terminal at Microsoft, the company plans to make Windows Terminal the default experience for Windows 11 users in 2022, starting with devices participating in the Insider program and then eventually rolling out to everyone.
First shipped in May 2020, Windows Terminal version 1.0 is an app designed as a command-line experience for running Command Prompt, PowerShell, and Linux. Unlike Windows Console Host, Terminal opens the doors to many new features like tabs and windows, and you can create different profiles with unique customizations.
