How to install Windows 10 Preview on a Windows Phone
Microsoft only released the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones to a handful of low-end devices, leaving many Windows Phone owners (temporarily) unable to test the new operating system. However, shortly after the release, an XDA developer managed to devise a method to trick the Windows Insider app into thinking the phone was actually one of the supported devices for the preview.
The tool is specifically designed to trick the Windows Insider app into thinking the phone is a Lumia 635, which is one of the supported phones that can install the latest preview of Windows 10 for mobile.
This method involves changing the phone's ID, and many users report successful upgrades to Windows 10. The only problem, however, is that once you update, you will no longer be able to access the update via "Phone Update." To get regular updates, you'll need to go through a 17-step process that also requires you to know the country code of the headset you want to update. It's not easy to figure out, but it's not impossible if you know how to use Google.
