Ahead of the final release of Windows 8.1, Microsoft is releasing a new updated version of its Xbox Video app. The most noticeable change the software maker is adding is a new, refined user interface. The new streamlined interface features larger tiles and a new dark background that matches the recent update of the Xbox Music app.

First Look: Windows 8.1 RTM Build 9600 – Start Screen, Apps, Desktop, PC Settings, and More
Although the new update for Xbox Video looks different, in a good way, it's still not a major update. In addition to the new homepage design, the app continues to focus on Microsoft's online content (movies and TV shows) rather than the content stored on your PC. Now there's just an ad at the bottom of the page, and interaction with movies and TV shows still works without changes.
The Windows Store also highlights new improvements, such as better collection management and performance improvements. Now, when you purchase a TV series, the app shows your progress on a particular episode and highlights the next episode to watch.
The new Xbox Video app update is now available for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 Preview, but it seems that Microsoft is holding off on releasing it for Windows 8.0.
